Toronto Blue Jays player Anthony Bass has issued an apology following his recent sharing of a social media post that urged Christians to boycott Target, Bud Light, and other businesses endorsing pro-LGBT ideologies.
This is the video that Anthony Bass shared on Instagram that he was browbeaten (or blackmailed) into apologizing for.
Or it was a totally organic apology because he genuinely and sincerely realized the error in his Christian ways. Within hours of mob-rule backlash. That’s always… pic.twitter.com/vjZoNViuBa

Bass expressed regret after being threatened by his employer, for hurting the “pride community,” which includes individuals he considers friends and relatives. He also emphasized his commitment to self-education, utilizing the resources provided by the Blue Jays organization.
Notably, Bass shared the controversial post from Ryan Miller, who argued for Christian boycotts of Target and Bud Light in a video released last week. Bud Light, the beer brand owned by Anheuser-Busch, faced significant backlash after featuring transgender Dylan Mulvaney in their advertisements.
Target has drawn negative attention for selling Pride products, including those aimed at children, as well as briefly offering items from the brand Abprallen, known for promoting the message “Satan respects pronouns.” Target has reportedly removed Abprallen’s products from its website.
The Blue Jays organization stated it will stand firmly behind the LGBT leftist agenda and will celebrate LGBTQ2S+ Pride Month. The organization plans to commemorate Pride Month by hosting a special “Pride Weekend” at the ballpark on June 9 and 10.
The team emphasized the individual sentiments expressed by players do not necessarily reflect the organization’s beliefs despite their staunch support for the LGBTQ2S+ community. Anthony Bass, whose Instagram profile includes phrases “Love God” and “Mark 10:27,” faced criticism after being forced to issue the apology.
Conservative commentators such as Dan Bongino and Matt Walsh expressed their disappointment on social media, characterizing the apology as “pathetic” and labeling those involved as “cowards.”
This incident involving Anthony Bass sheds light on how far large organizations and individuals are willing to sacrifice to keep their jobs. As the transgender movement continues to evolve, athletes and public figures find themselves navigating the delicate balance between personal convictions and public opinion.
In an ever-changing landscape, free speech should be crucial in addressing these multifaceted issues. The punishment of public figures for exercising their freedom of speech and expressing personal opinions is concerning as it restricts open dialogue, stifles diverse perspectives, and undermines the principles of open expression that are crucial for a thriving democratic society.
