Country Star Morgan Wallen Faces Felony Charge In Nashville

Country superstar Morgan Wallen was arrested Sunday evening in Tennessee for allegedly throwing a chair off a rooftop restaurant. The falling object landed just feet away from police officers on the ground below.

Wallen’s attorney, Worrick Robinson, released a statement noting that “at 10:53 p.m. Sunday evening, Morgan Wallen was arrested in downtown Nashville for reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct.”

The three counts of reckless endangerment are felonies. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department released the singer’s mugshot on Monday along with a list of charges.

The officers who were nearly struck by the chair discovered it had been tossed from six stories above them. Wallen reportedly laughed after throwing the object off the building, and video appeared to show him shouting in the back of the police car.

Bond was set at $15,250.

Wallen was also arrested in May 2020 for disorderly conduct. This latest incident followed by only two nights his appearance at Indiana’s Lucas Oil Stadium when he kicked off this year’s segment of his One Night at a Time World Tour.

It was on stage that night when Wallen made a joke at the expense of Taylor Swift that brought boos from the sell-out audience.

In a clip shared on TikTok, Wallen told the crowd, “This is the single most attended concert in the history of this building, and we’re the first to do it for two nights in a row.”

He then joked, “I’m going to say that until Taylor Swift comes to town in the fall.”

There were some present who cheered Wallen’s remark, but there was also a sizable contingent of fans who booed the mention of the pop superstar.

Wallen chastised the crowd, “We ain’t gotta boo, we ain’t gotta boo.” Then he added, “I appreciate that. I know y’all got my back.”

Suffice it to say, “Swifties” were not too thrilled with his remark and the crowd’s reaction. They took to social media to voice their displeasure at the country singer, asking why Morgan Wallen fans were booing their idol.

One wrote, “when you sell out stadiums all over America and overseas give me a call. Taylor Swift has some more class than you and your fans. She would never insult you, even though you deserve to be. Drop Taylor’s name to get your name out there. I don’t see you insulting any male artist.”
