A radical leftist judge backed by Planned Parenthood and two-time failed Democrat presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has won a Wisconsin Supreme Court contest.
Milwaukee County Circuit Court Judge Janet Protasiewicz, who was backed by leftists, was elected to the state Supreme Court on Tuesday. Her campaign received more than $8 million from the Wisconsin Democratic Party, according to the Associated Press.
Protasiewicz was also endorsed by Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin, and was supported by former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder (D) and Clinton, the former Secretary of State under the Obama administration.

The leftist judge defeated her conservative opponent, former Wisconsin Supreme Court Justice Dan Kelly — who was supported by pro-life groups. While Kelly was previously appointed to serve on the state Supreme Court by former Gov. Scott Walker (R) in 2016, but he lost an election to the court in 2020.
Kelly’s website describes him as a “judicial conservative who will apply the law as it is written, rather than legislate from the bench.”
Protasiewicz’s victory will shift the state Supreme Court’s current makeup, with four conservative-leaning judges and three left-leaning judges, to a left-leaning majority.

The leftist judge spoke out about her victory, claiming it was about “saving our democracy” and asserting that flipping the court to a left-leaning majority would somehow make it “fair and impartial.”
“It was really about saving our democracy, getting away from extremism and having a fair and impartial court where everybody gets a fair shot in the courtroom,” Protasiewicz said following her victory, according to the AP. “That’s what it was all about.”
Meanwhile, Kelly spoke strongly about his loss on Tuesday, arguing that Protasiewicz’s campaign was the “most deeply, deceitful, dishonorable, despicable campaign” he has “ever seen run for the courts. It was truly beneath contempt.”

He went on to declare that he wished he could “concede to a worthy opponent,” but there was no worthy opponent to whom he could concede — stating that Protasiewicz “is a serial liar.”
Kelly also asserted that the leftist judge had “disregarded judicial ethics” and “demeaned the judiciary with her behavior.”
