Trump: Special Counsel Smith ‘Deranged’ After More Charges Filed

Former President Donald Trump responded forcefully on Thursday to yet more charges being piled on by Biden’s special counsel Jack Smith. The newest allegations came in the classified documents case in which 37 counts had already been filed.

In a statement, the 2024 Republican frontrunner called the move “a continued desperate and flailing attempt by the Biden Crime Family and their Department of Justice” to harass him.

Trump further asserted that “deranged” Jack Smith is well aware that the administration has no case and that it is an orchestrated “witch hunt.”

Among Smith’s new claims is an allegation that the former president ordered a Mar-a-Lago worker to erase surveillance footage at the compound.

At his personal residence.

The filing also added another defendant, 56-year-old Carlos De Oliveira. He is a maintenance worker at the Trump estate and is charged with obstruction and making false statements to the FBI. This is undoubtedly an intimidating time for the employee.

Another charge against Trump claimed he boasted of a “plan of attack” against a foreign nation while being interviewed at his New Jersey golf club. Smith alleged he willfully kept classified materials, which is on top of the 37 existing criminal counts levied against the Republican.

The latest volley from the Biden administration came just hours after Trump and his attorneys met with the Justice Department.

That investigation is centered on allegations that the former president attempted to overthrow the 2020 election. It is believed that this may signal even more charges are forthcoming.

Trump already faced two sets of criminal indictments this year. He was indicted by Smith on the allegations over classified materials and by a Manhattan prosecutor over supposed “hush payments.”

Yet somehow, Trump still manages to lap the Republican field of primary candidates in every new poll. It is quite clear that the Democratic strategy is to indict the president’s chief rival out of the 2024 race.

What Democrats truly hope to accomplish are charges related to the so-called “insurrection” of Jan. 6. There is a belief among Biden supporters that Trump may be disqualified from running for another term in the Oval Office if these charges are successful.

After a contentious 2020 presidential election when Biden supposedly received more votes than any candidate in history, what are they so afraid of?
