The Supreme Court recently dealt a blow to radical left Special Counsel Jack Smith, denying his request to fast-track arguments of whether former President Donald Trump has immunity from criminal prosecutions, meaning that a criminal trial before the 2024 presidential election will likely not occur.

Although the High Court could still rule on Trump’s immunity, it declined Smith’s request to issue a ruling, while Trump’s legal team is currently appealing the case.
While pleading with the court not to pursue Smith’s case, the former president’s attorneys argued that the special counsel was trying to “rush to decide the issues with reckless abandon.”
“The fact that this case arises in the vortex of political dispute warrants caution, not haste,” the attorneys said in a statement.
After the Supreme Court declined Smith’s request, Trump took to social media, where he maintained that he was immune from federal prosecution.
“I was President, it was my right and duty to investigate, and speak on, the rigged and stolen 2020 Presidential Election. Looking forward to the very important arguments on Presidential Immunity in front of the DC Circuit Court of Appeals,” the former president wrote on Truth Social.
In a fundraising message, Trump blasted Smith for trying to “rob” him of his presidential immunity.
“The Supreme Court just DENIED the Biden prosecutor’s emergency request to ROB me of my right to presidential immunity,” the message stated.
U.S. District Court Judge Tanya Chutkan, overseeing Trump’s case, has rejected the argument that the former president is immune from criminal prosecution. As such, the former president’s legal team appealed to the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, which has set a hearing revolving the matter for January 2024.
The Supreme Court’s decision marks a victory for Trump, who has been continuously prosecuted by Democrats since announcing his presidential bid.
The former president has been indicted four times by leftist prosecutors. In New York, Trump faces charges over his alleged falsification of business records, while in Florida, the former president has been charged with allegedly hoarding classified documents.
In Washington, D.C., Smith accused Trump of trying to “overturn” the 2020 presidential election, citing his role in the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol protests. The former president also faces charges in Fulton County, Georgia, for questioning the 2020 election.
