NY Attorney General Letitia James Booed By Firefighters

Democratic New York Attorney General Letitia James received an unwelcoming reception on Thursday from firefighters during a speech at the New York Fire Department (FDNY) promotion ceremony in a church in Brooklyn.

After she thanked FDNY Commissioner Laura Kavanagh, the crowd of firefighters can be heard chanting former President Donald Trump’s name.

“Trump, Trump, Trump, Trump,” the firefighters shouted at James, while some booed.

“Oh, come on. We’re in a house of God. First, umm, simmer down,” James said, attempting to calm the crowd down. “Thank you for getting it out of your system.”

As a result, FDNY Chief of Department John Hodgens released a statement saying that the firefighters who interrupted James’ speech would be reprimanded by being forced to take “re-education” classes.

“Today’s ceremony was about one thing: the accomplishments of the members being promoted. The members whose behavior distracted from that celebration were an embarrassment and not befitting of the world’s best fire department,” Hodgens said.

The letter was sent to each firefighter stating that they must report to headquarters, laying out the “next steps” in their punishment.

According to the letter, these steps include: having D.C. visit every firehouse that promoted members, relay the bullet point message, understanding that BITS is gathering video to identify members that brought “discredit” to the Department and asking members who participated in the heckling to come forward, agreeing to education to learn why their behavior was “unacceptable.”

Thanks to the left’s woke movement, the brave men and women who risked their lives for the city of New York had their First Amendment rights infringed on. This attack on firefighters has led to several advocates condemning the punishment.

Conservative political commentator Rogan O’Handley said that the move shows that New York City is turning into a “Marxist hellhole.”

Patriot Kyle Rittenhouse also supported the firefighters, calling the act “disgusting” and urging all FDNY firefighters to relocate to a department that would support their free speech.

It is safe to say that if they were chanting for President Joe Biden, there would have been no consequences.

James’ unpopularity comes after filing a civil suit against Trump, resulting in the former president having to pay over $350 million and being banned from holding officer or advisor roles in any businesses in New York for three years.
