Leftist Cenk Uygur Announces Run For President As Democrat

Radical leftist Cenk Uygur of “The Young Turks” announced his candidacy for U.S. president Wednesday on his show. The overwhelming majority of Americans cannot be blamed for not having the slightest idea who he is.

Besides name recognition, there’s another issue that every elementary school civics student understands.

Uygur was born in Turkey. He did not immigrate to the U.S. until he was eight years old. As a naturalized citizen, he is constitutionally ineligible to be president.

This is basic and common knowledge, and the intent of the framers could not be more clear. No one “except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President.”

But the Democratic mantra is the Constitution is a “living” document, meaning it may be altered to suit their whims.

Posting on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Uygur claimed “case law is clear.” He said he will take his stand before the U.S. Supreme Court “to get rid of the albatross around the neck of 25 million Americans.”

The Istanbul native said he secured the same attorney employed by Bernie Sanders during his two bids for the White House. He said he expects to have “strong allies” in his fight, including Arnold Schwarzenegger.

As for his party’s president, Uygur said Democrats have to rid themselves of Joe Biden. “So my job is to be basically Paul Revere: Biden’s gonna lose, Biden’s gonna lose, Biden’s gonna lose.”

He said he will actively pressure the president to bow out of the race and clear the path for another Democrat. Preferably himself.

Even though most Democrats when polled say they want another name on the top of their 2024 ticket, Biden holds an enormous lead over Democratic challenger Marianne Williamson. Rival Robert F. Kennedy Jr. recently announced his run for the White House will be as an independent.

For his part, Uygur is almost completely unknown outside of California. He made a previous run for Congress in California’s 25th District and finished fourth out of 12 candidates vying for the seat.

Then there’s the pesky matter of the Constitution, which clearly established that a person must be a natural born citizen to become president.
