Judicial Watch Sues DOJ For Biden Transcripts

The transcripts for the interviews that took place between Special Counsel Robert Hur and President Joe Biden are being demanded by Judicial Watch, as the organization announced Monday that they are suing the Department of Justice (DOJ) for the potentially-damning recordings.

The interviews are being demanded by conservatives after the conclusion of the investigation pointed to serious cognitive issues that were reportedly giving the president difficulty during the interview.

The topic became a hot issue in conservative media as the long periods of questioning are reported to reveal more concerns around the president’s mental capacity than can be gleaned from the short appearances commonplace for Biden.

The report’s conclusion indicated that charges were not being pressed against Biden because it is unlikely, given his mental state, that a jury would convict a man so advanced in age of a serious crime when his mental state would clearly raise a reasonable doubt about his intent.

Hur concluded, “We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory. Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him-by then a former president well into his eighties-of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.”

While Biden and his administration continue to insist that there is nothing wrong with the president but a persistent “speech impediment,” nobody was accusing Biden of senility 10 years ago — when the speech impediment was apparently not fully developed yet.

If Judicial Watch is successful, it will either confirm the fears many Americans have about the cognitive health of President Joe Biden or it will help to dispel those fears. The question is, why aren’t the transcripts being released by the White House without the need of Judicial Watch’s lawsuit?
