Former New Zealand PM Takes A Stand For Censorship

Former New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern spoke before the United Nations regarding global free speech. Arden pushed for a lockdown on free speech, comparing free speech to weapons.

Ardern’s call for mass censorship is her answer to misinformation on the internet. She believes in a disinformation service that would regulate what people say and do, not just online but in their daily lives.

Standing before the U.N., Ardern had several requests regarding disinformation, and they all ended with censorship. In this speech, she refers to using unmonitored free addresses as a weapon of war.

Ardern stated free speech is something taught as a noble act. “After all, how do you successfully end a war if people are led to believe the reason for its existence is not only legal but noble? ”

Her stance on the topic drew immediate criticism when her speech to the U.N. went viral. Several commentators noticed her take on free speech for precisely what it is: censorship.

American journalist and writer Glenn Grinwald reacted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“This is the face of authoritarianism – even though it looks different than you were taught to expect. And it’s the mindset of tyrants everywhere. This is someone so inebriated by her sense of righteousness and superiority that she views dissent as an evil too dangerous to allow.”

Brandon Morse, Redstate deputy managing editor, gave his warning regarding Ardern’s words. “This is the authoritarians admitting that your free speech threatens their rule.”

This is not the first time that Ardern has let her views on what appears to be global free speech criminalization known. Aardern has long spoken against the use of misinformation on social media platforms. She later began calling it disinformation, feeling that if the information did not follow the mainstream view, then it was not information at all.

To stop the various forms of disinformation on social media, she voiced her censorship-based views on those speaking out against COVID and the vaccine dangers. As more information became known about the source of COVID and the demands to vaccinate, Argern began pointing at anything against vaccination or masking as disinformation that needs removal from social media.

She has now taken that action to the United Nations demanding that they take on her fight against free speech.
