Zeldin Moves To Recover Billions Biden’s EPA Sent To Outside Groups

The Environmental Protection Agency, under Administrator Lee Zeldin, is working to retrieve $20 billion in taxpayer funds that were transferred to an outside financial institution during the Biden administration. Zeldin described the move as an attempt to sidestep government oversight, allowing politically aligned organizations to access the money without accountability.

The funds were allocated through the Biden administration’s National Clean Investment Fund and Clean Communities Investment Accelerator, which sent money to groups involved in climate initiatives. Zeldin has called for the immediate termination of the financial agreement that allowed the money to be moved outside government control.

A December video from Project Veritas captured a Biden EPA official admitting the agency was rushing to allocate funds before the Trump administration could intervene. The official compared the effort to “throwing gold bars off the Titanic,” acknowledging that the money was being distributed recklessly.

Among the recipients of this funding were Climate United Fund, which received nearly $7 billion, and the Coalition for Green Capital, which was awarded $5 billion. These organizations have ties to left-leaning initiatives, including racial equity programs and labor unions.

The EPA under Zeldin has already taken action to cut wasteful spending, canceling a $50 million environmental justice grant and eliminating nearly half a million dollars in media subscriptions. The agency is also working with Congress and the Department of Justice to investigate the Biden administration’s handling of these funds.

The Justice Climate Fund, Appalachian Community Capital, and the Native CDFI Network were also among the groups receiving money through these programs. Zeldin has promised that every dollar allocated under these initiatives will be reviewed.
