The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Chicago reported that Tracy Marie Fiorenza, 41, was detained on Aug. 21, 2023, on charges of communicating threats to murder or harm.
The complaint of the woman was filed in August 2023 in the U.S. District Court in South Florida but was only recently unsealed, according to One America News (OAN).
“I will state that I will shoot Donald Trump Sr. AND Barron Trump straight in the face at any opportunity I get!,” Fiorenza said in a May 21 email to the head of an educational institution in the Palm Beach, Florida, according to an affidavit accompanying the complaint, as reported by Fox News.
Notably, Trump primarily lives in Palm Beach at his Mar-a-Lago resort.
According to an affidavit by a U.S. Secret Service agent, Fiorenza previously said she would “slam a bullet” into Barron Trump “with his father in SELF DEFENSE!”
The affidavit did not mention how or when the emails in question were sent. It also did not indicate whether Fiorenza had an attorney who could speak on her behalf.
CBS News Chicago reported that Fiorenza would have to take a trip to the Sunshine State. A judge told her that she must go to the U.S. District Court in Florida to answer for the charges.
The affidavit stated that Fiorenza was interrogated by the Secret Service at the agency’s Chicago field office on June 14, 2023, where she was handed copies of her emails.
Fiorenza reportedly resides in Plainfield, Illinois, and, according to her Facebook page, used to work as a high school teacher in Chicago.
If convicted on the charges, Fiorenza could face at least 5 years in prison.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, people blasted the Department of Justice (DOJ) for its differences in prosecuting Fiorenza and an elderly man who threatened President Joe Biden. The man, Craig Robertson, was ultimately killed by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for threatening the president, Fox News reported.
“Interesting that the woman (Tracy Marie Fiorenza) who threatened several times to put a bullet in both Donald Trump and his son, Barron, was simply asked to come into an FBI field office for an interview. Yet, the elderly man who threatened Biden’s life was executed,” X user, Scottish Lass, wrote.
