Fox News host Tucker Carlson pointed out efforts to legally deter former President Donald Trump from running for president in the 2024 election.

“Democrats are using the legal system to stop a presidential candidate from running for president,” he said.
While Carlson respects political differences and says that it’s okay not to support Trump, he says that constantly looking for loopholes to get him thrown out of the race is not ethical.
“Now, you don’t have to love Trump – it doesn’t matter,” he stated. “If you believe in our system and want it to continue, you should be outraged. But nobody is saying anything so far as I can tell.”
In November, Trump announced he would be reaching for the White House again come 2024. Not long after, in December, a group of House Democrats came up with legislation that would stop Trump from holding any federal office in the future.
Holding on to the Jan. 6 riot, they weaponized section 3 of the 14th Amendment that prohibits a person who took an oath to support the Constitution yet engaged in “insurrection or rebellion” from holding any office.
“You don’t get to lead a government you tried to destroy,” Rep. David Cicilline (D-RI), who led the effort, said.
Efforts on the Left to ensure Trump does not run in the elections started before his announcement. Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-HI) said last year that he would “love it if we could disqualify him.”
If a third impeachment would give them what they want, they would have already made the move, but in a bid to avoid another futile move, they are seeking other ways to stop his bid. And their plan is very clear.
But Carlson stated that trying to force Trump out of the presidential race goes against everything democracy stands for. According to him, voters – the actual people who will be impacted by his leadership – are supposed to be left to decide whether or not they want Trump to lead them again.
“But no, partisan prosecutors at all levels, state and federal, are trying to prevent him from running for president again,” Carlson stated. “Everyone knows this, no one ever says it, but it’s true, it’s happening.”
