President Donald Trump announced a bold initiative to combat illegal immigrant gangs in a rally held in Aurora, Colorado. Titled “Operation Aurora,” the plan targets migrant gangs, such as the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua, and promises to remove them from the country if Trump wins re-election in November.
Trump addressed the issue of gang violence during his speech, blaming President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for allowing illegal immigration to spiral out of control, which he said has endangered towns like Aurora. He described “Operation Aurora” as a massive effort to rescue communities plagued by violent migrants.
The former president said that if elected, he would invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to expedite the deportation of illegal immigrant gang members. He promised that federal law enforcement would track down every gang member and remove them from the country swiftly. “We’re going to get them the hell out of our country,” Trump declared to the crowd.
In his speech, Trump dedicated the initiative to victims of migrant violence and promised to seek the death penalty for any illegal immigrant found guilty of killing an American citizen or law enforcement officer. He said that repeat offenders who re-enter the country after deportation would face automatic 10-year prison sentences.
Trump also vowed to ban sanctuary city policies across the country, including Denver, arguing that these laws protect criminals at the expense of American citizens. He promised to initiate the largest deportation effort in the country’s history to close the border and defend US sovereignty.
