President Donald Trump holds a slight edge over Vice President Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania, according to a new Insider Advantage poll conducted just days before the Democratic National Convention (DNC). The poll shows Trump with 47% support compared to Harris’s 46%, a razor-thin margin that highlights how pivotal the state will be in the upcoming election.
The poll, conducted between August 18 and 19, surveyed 800 likely voters and has a margin of error of ±3.5%. With Pennsylvania’s 19 electoral votes up for grabs, the state is set to be one of the most fiercely contested battlegrounds in the 2024 race.
Trump’s campaign is strategically focusing on Pennsylvania, particularly highlighting Harris’s policies over the last four years. A Trump campaign official told Breitbart News that they intend to expose Harris’s “radical record” on issues like energy policy and crime.
Trump and his running mate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) are both scheduled to make appearances in Pennsylvania this week, underscoring the state’s importance. Trump will visit a factory in York while Vance will tour a facility in Philadelphia, both emphasizing the need for economic growth and energy independence, areas where they argue Harris has failed.
The poll results also come as Trump’s team prepares for similar stops in Michigan and Wisconsin, where they plan to address issues of rising crime under Democratic leadership. Pennsylvania’s importance in this election cannot be overstated, as it was a key state that flipped in 2020 after Trump narrowly won it in 2016.
With both campaigns now laser-focused on winning over Pennsylvania voters, this poll signals how competitive and crucial the race will be in determining the outcome of the 2024 election.
