Former president and current presidential candidate Donald Trump issued a warning during his speech at the NRA’s Leadership Forum on Friday, stating that if Biden’s gun control agenda is implemented, it could potentially result in a government that is armed against law-abiding citizens.
“The Biden gun control agenda is part and parcel of the left-wing crusade to weaponize government against law-abiding citizens,” said Trump.
He pointed out that Biden’s gun control measures may limit the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens, but they do not prevent criminals from carrying out their criminal activities.
Trump said, “The left is letting criminals roam free. They’re all over the place. I’ve never seen anything like it. You’re afraid to walk through one of these Democrat cities. You go out for a loaf of bread, and you end up getting shot.”
“As president, I will end the weaponization of our government,” he stated.
In reference to gun violence in schools, Trump said, “It is a scandal and a tragedy that year after year, Democrats in Washington continue to hold commonsense school safety measures hostage to their radical gun control agenda, which, in virtually all cases, would do nothing to prevent attacks by demented and disturbed individuals.”
“This is not a gun problem. This is a mental health problem. This is a social problem. This is a cultural problem. This is a spiritual problem.”
During his speech, Trump outlined a number of policy proposals, including his intention to push Congress to enact national reciprocity legislation to enable concealed carry across state lines.
Additionally, he vowed to create a tax credit to support gun purchases and training for teachers. He also promised to direct the Food and Drug Administration to investigate the impact of transgender hormone therapy on behaviors such as extreme depression, aggression and violence.

Trump pledged to safeguard and enhance the rights of gun owners, saying, “I was proud to be the most pro-gun, pro-Second Amendment president you’ve ever had in the White House, and with your support in 2024, I will be your loyal friend and fearless champion once again as the 47th president of the United States.”
