Project 2025 Author Challenges Critics, Emphasizes Early Development

Hans von Spakovsky, co-author of Project 2025, has urged critics to read the project, noting it predates Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign. “I would challenge anyone who’s listening to these false criticisms, go read it,” Spakovsky said, emphasizing the project’s foundation in common sense. He clarified that Project 2025 is a strategic plan by the Heritage Foundation, developed to guide the next Republican administration.

Project 2025 focuses on four pillars. The first, Mandate for Leadership, is a policy guide created by over 350 conservatives to outline agency goals. The second pillar is an online database called “Conservative LinkedIn,” launching in March, to help conservatives secure government positions. The third is the Presidential Administration Academy, designed to train appointees in effective governance. The final pillar, the Playbook, will convert policy ideas into practical plans for immediate implementation by the new administration.

Spakovsky highlighted the necessity for conservatives to be proactive and organized, contrasting the initiative with past Republican administrations’ slower adaptation to governmental processes. Project 2025, although not tailored specifically for Trump, aims to prepare the next Republican leadership to hit the ground running, ensuring efficient and effective governance from the outset.

The project’s creators believe that without a well-prepared plan, the conservative movement risks being outmaneuvered by the left, which has consistently advanced its agenda through government institutions. By fostering a well-equipped and knowledgeable administration, Project 2025 seeks to counteract this trend and promote conservative policies effectively.
