FDNY Commissioner Robert Tucker is the latest New York official to be caught up in a growing federal investigation into corruption. Tucker, appointed just last month, is facing questions about his ties to China through his former security firm, T&M USA LLC. The firm had Chinese billionaire Miles Guo, who was convicted of fraud and racketeering, as a client.
Guo, who admitted to working for Chinese intelligence, had hired T&M to install security cameras in his apartment. Tucker’s connection to Guo and his company’s work for him is raising eyebrows, especially as other city officials are being probed for corruption.
Tucker’s connections don’t stop there. He also has ties to Lin Gui’an, an NYPD official reportedly linked to the Chinese Communist Party. This relationship is raising concerns about the extent of Chinese influence on New York’s public safety infrastructure.
These revelations come as former FDNY chiefs Brian Cordasco and Anthony Saccavino face bribery charges, and after NYPD Commissioner Edward Caban’s resignation due to a federal investigation into his conduct.
The investigation into corruption in New York is widening, with Tucker’s ties to China becoming a focal point.
