Lawsuit Claims Roc Nation Impersonated State Officials, Offered Bribes

Attorney Tony Buzbee has accused Jay-Z’s Roc Nation of targeting his law firm in a scheme designed to derail high-profile lawsuits. The lawsuit alleges that Roc Nation and its lawyers violated Texas laws by impersonating state officials and offering financial incentives to Buzbee’s clients.

The filing names attorneys Marcy Croft and Quinn Emanuel, claiming they orchestrated efforts to persuade current and former Buzbee clients to sue his firm. According to the lawsuit, agents posing as state officials contacted clients, using fake badges and offering cash payments to participate.

Buzbee alleges one client was offered $10,000 to join a lawsuit and claims Croft was recorded discussing the scheme. “This conduct was specifically targeted at our firm to prevent us from pursuing cases against their clients,” Buzbee said.

Roc Nation has denied the accusations, describing the lawsuit as unfounded. Croft dismissed the claims as fabricated and intended to distract from other legal challenges.

The allegations come amid ongoing litigation involving Sean “Diddy” Combs and Jay-Z, who are accused of serious crimes, including sexual assault. Both men deny the allegations.
Combs’ pretrial conference is set for today in New York, while the lawsuit against Roc Nation proceeds in Texas.
