Larry Elder Can Beat Gavin Newsom In The California Governor Recall

Larry Elder, attorney, author, and radio talk-show host is running for Governor of California in the recall election after Sacramento Superior Court Judge Laurie Earl allowed him to continue. Larry Elder made the case that he should be included on the recall ballot as a special election in opposition to efforts made by the California Secretary of State.

Over 40 candidates have submitted documentation and petitions necessary to run in the recall election on September 14, 2021, including Former San Diego Mayor Kevin Faulconer, multimillionaire real estate mogul John Cox, and Caitlyn Jenner.

Elder was born in Los Angeles, and at 69-years-old the conservative radio host has already proven that he has what it takes to win in the rough and tumble high stakes game of politics. As a lawyer, he said he’d hired the best lawyers to ensure that this recall election is different from the primary election. Judge Earl rejected the tax return requirement that was being used to prohibit his candidacy.

California Secretary of State Shirley Weber tried to force Elder to submit his tax documents. But Judge Earl disallowed this requirement, stating, “I don’t find that the recall election is a direct primary election ballot. And I don’t find that Mr. Elder was required to file tax returns at all.”

Elder is highly critical of the massive increases in crime in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Sacramento, and San Diego. Homelessness and drug-related crime has

Energy is a massive problem in California. When PG&E, the state’s largest energy supplier, shut off power because their power lines have caused wildfires, millions of homes went dark. Elder pointed out that property prices are directly related to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), which requires developers to assess the environmental impact against economic opportunities. It means that the government controls the supply of housing, making certain exceptions for friends of politicians, which causes new homes to be built and drives prices up.

Elder also has pointed criticism leveled at Newsom’s COVID-19 response. Newsome children received private tutoring and were learning remotely, while 50% of all students in the state cannot read and write. California’s teachers’ unions refused to return to work, even as parents were required to earn a living. Newsom, governors, staff members, and donors violated the state restrictions and had a lovely evening meal out at the French Laundry. If that sounds like a place to get your clothes cleaned, it is not. The restaurant is rated as one of the most exclusive and expensive globally, with some bills for large parties running as high as $30,000.

Larry nailed it when he noted, “People are angry that the state was shut down in such a severe way during the pandemic while this man was sitting in a restaurant with lobbyists and healthcare professionals violating the very mandates they wrote.” He noted that Newsom’s winery in Napa County was able to remain open while all others were forced to lockdown.

Elder is the most directly confrontational and poised to compete with Newsome and his statewide network of cronyism. It’s going to be up to Californians to decide if they want to rule by an autocrat with slick hair or a man who believes in human freedom and dignity and will stop and do nothing to restore California’s bright future.
