Jill Biden Earns Nickname After Eagles Lose Super Bowl

U.S. first lady Jill Biden has earned herself a new nickname after the Philadelphia Eagles lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 57.

During the National Football Conference (NFC) Championship game between the Eagles and the 49ers, the first lady was spotted at the game with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

According to RedState, she was heavily booed by Eagles fans as she performed the traditional coin toss at the game.

She also cheered on the Philadelphia Phillies in the 2022 MLB World Series. However, the Phillies ended up losing the series in six games to the Houston Astros.

Consequently, being the “Philadelphia fan” that she is, the first lady cheered for the Philadelphia Eagles as they played in Super Bowl 57.

On Twitter, she showed her support for the football team.

Despite her support, the Eagles ended up losing a tight game to the Chiefs in the championship game.

Therefore, social media users dubbed the losses of the Phillies and the Eagles the “Jill Biden curse.”

Since the first lady is adamant that she be called “doctor”, a Twitter user bestowed upon her a new nickname:

“Dr. Jinx.”

Jill Biden being referred to as a “curse” or a “jinx” is reminiscent of the time former President Barack Obama was labeled a “curse” whenever he expressed his support for sports teams or attended a game.

“Former President Barack Obama, the fifth-greatest living commander in chief, has developed a habit of inflicting pain and humiliation upon the athletes whose games he decides to attend,” The Washington Free Beacon reported.

For example, during Obama’s presidency, golf legend Tiger Woods won zero major golf tournaments. Yet, he won the 2019 Masters at Augusta National, while Trump was president.

“Thanks to Trump’s efforts, another disastrous Obama legacy was dismantled over the weekend. Beloved American hero Tiger Woods earned his fifth green jacket at Augusta National,” the Free Beacon stated.

It was Woods’ first master’s victory since 2005, the year George W. Bush was sworn in for a second term as president.

Although the Eagles didn’t lose by much in the Super Bowl, it was a crushing defeat for their fans. Philadelphia’s sports teams have now lost the World Series and the Super Bowl. The “Jill Biden curse” is real.
