Jamie Raskin Claims Defending Ukraine Is About LGBTQ Rights

Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-MD) says that any decreased support for Ukraine’s defense against Russia is the same as an attack on the sacred woke values of the Democratic Party.

“Moscow right now is … a world center of antifeminist, antigay, anti-trans hatred, as well as the homeland of replacement theory for export,” said Raskin in a recent statement.

His words came only days after thirty Democrat colleagues sent a now-withdrawn letter to President Joe Biden calling for a ceasefire in Eastern Europe.

“I am glad to learn of the withdrawal of the letter of October 24, 2022,” reads the opening line of Raskin’s address.”

Raskin went on to label Russian President Vladimir Putin a “colonizer” and “imperialist,” saying Ukraine has taught the globe “a lesson in anti-imperialism.”

“It is a bad colonial habit to suppose that ultimately peace depends upon the wishes of the great powers and the great powers alone, and even progressive and liberal people can fall into this colonialist reflex.”

He continued on that point and shared his view that Putin and Russian citizens are one and the same.

“Moscow right now is a hub of corrupt tyranny, censorship, authoritarian repression, police violence, propaganda, government lies and disinformation, and planning for war crimes…”

“In supporting Ukraine, we are opposing these fascist views, and supporting the urgent principles of democratic pluralism,” said Raskin, virtue signaling in classic Democrat fashion.

His comments mirror those of MI6 head Richard Moore, who in February claimed that above all else, defending Ukraine is about “LGBT+ rights.”

“With the tragedy and destruction unfolding so distressingly in Ukraine, we should remember the values and hard-won freedoms that distinguish us from Putin, none more than LGBT+ rights. So let’s resume our series of tweets to mark #LGBTHM2022,” said Moore in the now infamous Tweet.

Last June, a main organizer of Dublin, Ireland’s gay pride parade added Ukrainian national colors to the LGBTQ rainbow flag.

There was a day when Democrats clamoring to potentially start a third world war in the name of identity politics would seem absurd, but that time has come and gone. Progressives continue proving that nothing is out of the question when it comes to their political goals.
