Hillary Clinton Urges Social Media Censorship Or ‘We Lose Total Control’

Hillary Clinton has called for federal intervention to regulate social media, claiming that without tighter moderation, society risks losing “total control” over online content. Appearing on Michael Smerconish’s CNN show, the former Secretary of State emphasized that action is needed to address what she sees as dangerous trends in digital communication — in other words, information she doesn’t want you to know must be removed.

Clinton urged the federal government to take more responsibility in regulating platforms like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), and TikTok, saying that relying on states like California or New York to address these issues isn’t enough. “We need national action,” she said, noting that Congress has been ineffective in dealing with these concerns.

A major part of Clinton’s proposal is the repeal of Section 230, a law that provides social media platforms with immunity from legal repercussions for content posted by users. She believes the law, originally intended to treat platforms as neutral pass-throughs, no longer reflects their real influence on society.

Clinton warned that failing to moderate online content could have serious consequences. “If they don’t moderate and monitor, we lose total control,” she said. It turns out that criminals are not in favor of you being made aware of their crimes.

Clinton has also raised concerns about election misinformation, suggesting that those involved in spreading propaganda should face legal consequences. She has pointed to her own loss in 2016 to President Donald Trump as a reason for the urgency of this issue — instead of accepting the fact that she was simply disliked by Americans.
