Florida has joined a multi-state lawsuit against the Biden Administration for restarting an Obama-era initiative that allows illegal aliens to enter and remain in the country in violation of federal law. Indiana, Missouri, Montana, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Alaska are part of the Texas-led coalition. These states are suing the Biden Administration for resuming the Central American Minors Program, which the Trump Administration suspended in 2017.
The news of the lawsuit came after attorneys general from 12 states met in McAllen, Texas, on the country’s southern border. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sponsored the event. Attorney General Ashley Moody of Florida attended the Texas meeting and met with law enforcement and immigration authorities to address the current immigration problem.
“It is even more evident to her now that Biden and DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas are forming their unlawful organization” to transport illegal immigrants into and across the United States, according to Moody. “Not only will she fight hard to halt these unlawful activities, but she will also continue to tell Floridians about what their federal government is doing,” she said.
According to the reports, Texas and Florida have already collaborated on border security issues. Governor Greg Abbott officially declared a disaster in 48 Texas counties, most located near the Mexican border. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis thanked Attorney General Moody for his efforts to “stop the Biden Administration’s dangerous immigration policy.”
According to DeSantis, the Biden Administration continues to defy the law by allowing large numbers of illegal aliens to enter the border. Synthetic opioids have surged across the southern border in recent years, contributing to increased fentanyl overdoses across the country. “Not only are these illegal aliens given free rein in the United States, but the Administration also shifts the weight and costs to the states while ignoring the repercussions of its policies.”
Therefore, since 2021, the federal government has flown more than 70 aircraft into Florida carrying illegal immigrants. Gov. Ron DeSantis made it plain that the difficulties plaguing Texas’ border towns would not be “imported into the state of Florida.” He and the other states joining Texas are trying to stop the Biden Administration’s illegal immigration policies.
