Elderly Jewish Man Dead After Clash With Pro-Palestinian Protesters

Following the deadly Hamas attack on Israel last month, a startling number of Americans have started publicly parroting the talking points of the Palestinian terrorist organization and participating in blatantly anti-Israel protests across the country.

In one such demonstration by activists targeting a pro-Israel rally in Los Angeles, California, an elderly Jewish man died after an apparent altercation.

A statement from the Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles alleged that 69-year-old Paul Kessler was hit with a megaphone by a pro-Palestinian protester during the event on Sunday and fell to the ground, sustaining injuries that resulted in his death.

Authorities did not confirm those details in a statement on the matter, but indicated that the incident might be investigated as a hate crime.

“Witness accounts indicated that Kessler was involved in a physical altercation with counterprotesters,” the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department reported. “During the altercation, Kessler fell backward and struck his head on the ground.”

A subsequent autopsy determined that his death was caused by blunt-force head trauma and was the result of a homicide.

In response to what the Jewish Federation indicated was the “fourth major antisemitic crime committed in Los Angeles this year alone,” the local chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations urged individuals to “refrain from jumping to conclusions” regarding the deadly incident.

The organization claimed to be “deeply saddened by this tragic and shocking loss” before admonishing anyone who might be “sensationalizing such a tragedy for political gains, or spreading rumors that could unnecessarily escalate tensions that are already at an all-time high.”

Of course, the anti-Israel wing of the Democratic Party and mainstream media have spent the past month seizing on speculation and accepting Hamas propaganda at face value in an apparent effort to hype their pro-Palestine agenda.

While the Biden administration vows to fight against the supposed increase in Islamophobia in America, Kessler’s death is just the latest example of antisemitism run amok in the wake of the Hamas attack.

A Jewish student was recently harassed during a pro-Palestine protest on the campus of Harvard University just days after multiple student groups signed a letter blaming Israel for the violence its people have endured at the hands of bloodthirsty terrorists.
