Cracker Barrel Offers Couples Who Propose A Year Of Free Meals

Cracker Barrel is giving couples who make wedding proposals a chance to win free meals for a year, according to an announcement by the restaurant posted to Instagram.

“If you love them, & you love homestyle dishes, put a ring on it!” Cracker Barrel posted online Wednesday. “Get engaged in a Cracker Barrel location, submit proof, and be entered to win meals for a year! Yup… you read that right. Tying the knot never came with such a great wedding gift,” continued the post.

The restaurant’s post had a bit over 2,000 likes on Instagram as of Monday evening.

Fox News alum and talk show host Todd Starnes reacted to the news, posting online, “SWEET MERCY! Couples Who Get Engaged at Cracker Barrel Could Get Free Food For A Year.”

Blaze Media reported on the conditions that must be met in order for a couple to potentially win Cracker Barrel’s contest for a year of free food:

Valentine’s Day is on Tuesday, February 14. Early birds and Johnny-come-lately types have a cushion, though, as the contest runs February 10-16. Five couples will be eligible to win. The actual date of the proposal is not limited, so potential entrants who long ago proposed at the restaurant could also win.

Would-be winners must submit proof of the engagement to be entered. Entering also involves uploading a publicly-viewable video depicting the proposal between February 10-16. Entrants must also include a description of why they proposed at the restaurant along with the hashtags #ISaidYesAtCrackerBarrel and #Contest. Also, they must tag Cracker Barrel’s Instagram account.

One user did not appear to like the offer, writing, “If my future husband doesn’t propose here, it’s over.”

Another commented, “Didn’t get engaged there but we met while working there.”

“We had Cracker Barrel cater our wedding!” exclaimed a third.

There is at least a small history of wedding proposals occurring at Cracker Barrel, as was seen in a story video posted by the restaurant in September 2021. The former strangers, Josh and Rebekah, met at Cracker Barrel for the first time in September 2020 before Josh later proposed.
