According to an old joke, the difference between God and a doctor is that God does not consider Himself to be a doctor. It’s amusing because there’s a grain of truth in it, and it may even be justified to some level. Doctors have a high opinion of themselves, and they want those who haven’t gone to medical school to believe them.
Patients on COVID-19 are increasingly being denied access to medicinal treatments that Democrats oppose, such as ivermectin. If a person tests positive for COVID-19, the current “treatment” advises them to stay at home and rest. If the patient becomes ill, they must go to the hospital, but it may be too late by that time. There appears to be no compelling reason not to undertake a medical therapy that will do no harm and may avoid a severe case of COVID-19.
Hospitals are losing their battle against providing ivermectin to patients who have not been vaccinated against COVID-19, as though immunization against the illness protects infection (it doesn’t). Patients are suing hospitals around the country for providing the treatment, and judges are deciding that they have the right to try it.
COVID-19 is a dangerous disease that has been sweeping the globe for more than two years. Common sense suggests that a treatment that will cause no harm while perhaps saving some lives be tried if this is the case. At the very least, doctors administering medication to patients rather than becoming enraged with them would put everyone on the same page to maintain good health and avoid illness.
