When Hunter Biden’s former business Partner Devon Archer appeared on Capitol Hill earlier this week to provide testimony about President Joe Biden’s involvement in his son’s foreign business deals, Republicans seized on potential evidence of political corruption.
TUCKER: "There's no corruption here at all. This is totally normal. Joe Biden had no role whatsoever in in his son's business or knowledge of it? That seems false."
DEVON ARCHER: "That's categorically false. He was aware of Hunter's business. He met with Hunter's business… pic.twitter.com/m7RVzyQrZn

“The evidence continues to mount and today we saw Joe Biden has lied to the American people,” declared House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY). “He knew who his son was getting those dollars from and he spoke to them and spoke to them often.”
On the other side of the aisle, lawmakers like U.S. Rep. Dan Goldman (D-NY) attempted to portray Archer’s remarks as some type of vindication for the elder Biden.
During one exchange with the witness, Goldman asked: “So, is it fair to say that Hunter Biden was selling the illusion of access to his father?”
After Archer’s affirmative reply, the New York Democrat went further.
“So when you talk about selling ‘the brand,’ it’s not about selling access to his father,” Goldman began. “It’s about selling the illusion of access to his father. Is that fair?”
Archer would only concede that the characterization was “almost fair,” citing the undeniable “touch points and contact points” between Joe and Hunter Biden dealing with the latter’s business dealings.
Nevertheless, CNN seemingly ignored the context of Archer’s follow-up response and parroted Goldman’s assertions in an article about the congressional testimony.
“Archer provided no evidence connecting President Joe Biden to any of his son’s foreign business dealings,” the cable news network’s report claimed — despite the witness’s confirmation that then-Vice President Joe Biden participated by phone in numerous business meetings.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) described Archer’s testimony as “extremely damning,” and his revelations have sparked new efforts among House Republicans to pursue articles of impeachment against the president.
“We have Devon Archer coming out and telling the truth that Hunter Biden and Joe Biden spoke over 20 times about his business deals, not about the weather, not about what was for lunch, about his business deals,” Greene concluded.
In an effort to address the contradictory accounts related to Archer’s testimony, the Republican-led House Oversight Committee has made the complete transcript available to the public.
