After 50 Years, Biden Finally Plans Visit To Southern Border

After spending his nearly 50 years in elected office avoiding visiting the southern border, President Joe Biden has finally announced his intention to travel to the U.S.-Mexico border next week.

Almost two years into his administration, Biden continues to promote policies that open the southern border to millions of illegal aliens — most of which are job-seeking economic migrants. The border crisis has continued to worsen because of these policies, and Biden’s critics have demanded that he show up to the border to witness the effects of mass illegal immigration.

While speaking with reporters in Kentucky with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY), Biden claimed that his team was in the middle of planning his trip.

“That’s my intention, we’re working out the details now,” the president told the press.

When asked later in the day about what he expects to see when he visits the southern border, Biden appeared to joke about the matter, grinning as he said “peace and security.”

Neither Biden nor his team has revealed the location on the border that he plans to visit, though it is reportedly being scheduled around an international meeting in Mexico City where Biden is planning to meet with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Biden — who has never visited the southern border in his entire time in political office, including as a senator, vice president or president — has attempted to distance himself from the border crisis by avoiding questions on the subject and delegating responsibility for the problem to Vice President Kamala Harris and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

Since Biden took office in January 2021, his administration has allowed approximately 3.5 million illegal aliens to cross the U.S.-Mexico border — including more than one million so-called “gotaways” who were able to sneak through the border without being caught by the few remaining guards that the Biden administration has allowed to stay there.

According to Breitbart News, the influx under Biden is “14 times as many as were allowed into the United States in President Donald Trump’s final year — and it has helped cut wages and spike rents for at least 100 million Americans. The southern inflow, not counting the huge inflow of legal immigrants and visa workers, adds up to almost one migrant for every American who turned 18 in 2022.”
